CROSSHAIR FEATURED IN THE NEW "LITTLE BOOK OF SCREENPRINTING" New from Chronicle Books, Caspar Williamson's Little Book Of Screenprinting explores the medium, and profiles contemporary artists pushing it forward. Crosshair is featured, among others including Sonnenzimmer, Seripop, and many more of our friends and colleagues. The UK/European release is entitled Reinventing Screenprinting and features different cover art, but the same content. So buy it already!
OPEN CITY out now In late 2011, Crosshair was invited to participate in a show at Gallery 1988 in Los Angeles, curated by Daniel Danger. The show was named "Devil Town" after the Daniel Johnston song of the same name. It sought to turn Street Art conventions on their head by presenting street-level images in print, painting, and other media, that explored themes of urban/suburban/rural dislocation and disorientation, and the individual's place in physical space. Crosshair's contribution entitled "Open City" is an intricately detailed 17-color print, which pushes the envelope of screenprinted photo-realism to re-imagine disintegration as renewal. (To see some images and explanation of the print process, check out this thread on Gigposters.com. The show closed at the end of December and now Open City is available directly from the Crosshair store. Through January 15th, it ships free worldwide: Enter the code OPENCITY at checkout.
